The surface of a cyclorama wall is built up drywall compound, finish troweled and sanded to a smooth surface. It is then primed and painted with a latex paint. This is the surface the peelable coating would be applied to. All direction changes are done by covering the wall approaching the floor and side wall sections so the entire area appears seamless.
The coating can then be painted colors, or with various scenery. The blue screen and green screen cyclorama walls are commonly used to create special effects on camera.
Peelable Mask is used to temporarily decorate equipment, vehicles or buildings during a film shoot. It can be use for blanking out road markings, signs or add decorative effects or graffiti to buildings.
It may be used as a base onto which a number of different layers of paint may be added for specific requirement. LiquiPeelMask can be stripped away like a ‘carpet’ and the entire process can be repeated. It is anti static, non toxic and non flammable.
It is also weather resistant and thus it can be used outside for up to several months. Available in all colors, messages can be applied by self adhesive graphics or paint. The peelable coatings will adhere to uneven surfaces that adhesive films will not and can be color matched.

“Greetings: I read your info. on your website, but have a few other questions I would like to ask you. I’m looking to cover two soundstage floors that are made of concrete. The stages are in the process of being built, so the floors will be brand spanky new!
The first stage is approx. 6,000 s.f., how much paint do you suggest I will need to cover the area? The second stage is approx., 2,000 sq. ft. again how much paint to cover it? Would I be using the Liquid Peel mask for this application? Can you please give me costs on the above spaces, including a shipping estimate? The stages are located in Minneapolis, MN.
We also will have two cyclorama walls on the stages and from what I have read these can be covered as well with Stripaway 2810, correct?I would also like you thoughts on how much it would be to cover an L-shaped cyc that is 53′ x 73′ x 25′ high as well as a wall that is 28′ w x 25′ high?Price on this as well, please? Is there a price break when we purchase in such large amounts?
Once the coatings are down and dried, they turn clear, correct? Does it matter how many coats of paint I have over it before I need to peel it up and lay down a fresh coat? If an area started to come up, which is the best way to “mend” the area?”
Our Recommendations: 150 square feet per gallon. 6000 ft/2 will need 40 gallons; 2000 ft/2 will need 15 gallons – a total of 55 gallons.
Cyclorama walls—–what is the substrate, is it painted than what kind of paint, etc. We need to know on what surface the peelable coating will be put.
“I am about to begin work on a TV cooking program. We will be shooting in someone’s actual kitchen and I would like to paint over the wood cabinetry. I would like a water based product that I can paint on and then coat with the paint of our choice. When the job is done I would like to be able return the kitchen to its original state with as little fuss as possible. Because a family will be living here toxicity is an issue. Could you recommend one of your products to suit my needs? Thanks for your time and help.” -Tom
Our Recommendations: Studio_ProtectFilm 2810 is a water based peelable coating that can be applied with a brush, roller or airless sprayer. This coating cures upon water evaporation to a clear water resistant film that can be coated with other color paints. At the end of your work just pry a corner and lift the paint away. Being that you will be covering wood cabinets we suggest that you try 2810 first on the cabinet, some corner, to see if it would peel. Most wood cabinets in the kitchen are well sealed and peelable coating will peel. Apply at least 10 mils of wet coating for easy peel later.
LiquiPeelMask should be used as received. It can be applied by airless spray, paint roller, or brush. The coating dries upon water evaporation. Wet coating is milky (white). Dry coating is clear. The surface to be applied with LiquiPeelMask should be dry, clean and free from oil, grease and other water incompatible matter. The clean surface helps even distribution of LiquiPeelMask. The surface remains clean when LiquiPeelMask is removed and surface clean up will not be necessary for second time application. LiquiPeelMask should be applied to form a dry film in the range of 3 to 10 mils(.003″ to .010″) thick. Application temperature is ambient to no lower than 50ºF. Drying times will be affected by humidity, film thickness, air movement and temperature. Best time to apply is on week-ends or late afternoons to give a coating time to dry. Proper fan placement can speed the dry by removing water at a much faster rate. Application by roller might require a few coats. Thick coating peels in one large continuous sheet. Thin coatings will break in areas of coating weakness. LiquiPeelMask is water based for safe use and easy water clean up. Dry coatings are water resistant. When applying LiquiPeelMask use the same protection as used while applying paint.
Precautions: Always test a small inconspicuous area first. Because of various substrate characteristics and conditions like porosity, deterioration, embattlement, adverse wear area, type of ink, paint and or other coatings applied, abrasion of panted surfaces, and the like ,it is difficult to predetermine specific effects from this product.
Safety & Handling: See application and safety precautions before applying. Liquid product is slippery when wet. Please refer to MSDS.
1. Outline your floor area to be protected with the self adhesive fiber tape. DO not overlap tap edges ,but keep adjacent.
2. For best results, wet roller with water and squeeze out excess water. For best overall results Floorpeel should be applied to a minimum of dry mils
3. Apply LiquiPeelMask and let it dry. Rinse out roller with plenty of water between coats
4. Allow first coat to dry. dry time will be affected by coating thickness, application methods, humidity and air flow in the vicinity. Initial drying time is 30 minutes approximately.
5. Apply second coat and allow it to dry before permitting traffic on the floor.
Curing: LiquiPeelMask cures upon water evaporation. Dry time is dependent upon temperature, humidity, air movement and thickness of the coating. Curing may be accelerated by forced dry air up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Force dry coatings can cure in less than 10 minutes. Most coatings without assist will dry in a few hours. It is imperative that LiquiPeelMask be thoroughly cured and dry, before an attempt is made to peel the coating from the substrate. Cured coating is clear throughout. Cured LiquiPeelMask is water resistant. Floors coated with LiquiPeelMask can be water mopped.
Storage: LiquiPeelMask should be stored in the original shipping container with temperatures between 60 and 90 degrees F. Container should be sealed until needed. Protection from freezing is necessary.
Removal: LiquiPeelMask is readily removed from surfaces by peeling any exposed edge. This Peelable coating can be removed by prying an edge and slowly lifting the coating off the floor.
Color: White when wet. Clear when dry.

General Chemical's high temperature protective peelable coating cures to form a contour-hugging skin tight protective film on metals, glass or ceramics. This film is extremely useful in protecting items from overspray, dirt, etc. which undergoes high temperature cycles.
For Instance: Metal hooks holding object to be painted become over sprayed.
Solution: Apply High Temperature Coating 4880 on the hooks and after a few cycles of spray the film with the over spray paint can be peeled and the hooks are clean for further use. 4880 can be applied with a brush, roller, dip or airless spray. The cure is upon water evaporation to a transparent blue coating. Above is the study of 4880 films at various high temperatures conditions W Flashpoint: None
